I really love this card! It’s a cross between minimalist simplicity and colorful fun! It references again Matthew 5:16 and encourages us to live our lives for Jesus as brightly as possible.

Personalized Gingerbread Kid Christmas Ornaments

This past Christmas, we were celebrating a new baby in our church. I’ve mentioned before how we love to celebrate babies, and this one was no different. Well… okay, it was a little different!

Christmas Tree Ornaments with Gingerbread family, personalized with names and year.

Gingerbread kids, Gingerbread baby, brown, red

This baby was being celebrated in December! I just love gingerbread men, so I set up our sprinkling table and invitation with a gingerbread theme. Are there pictures? No… because it was December and apparently there is too much going on to remember to take pictures. Oh well… I did make this cute ornament for them though. I love how it turned out. I printed it out on card stock, mounted that to a piece of a cereal box and glued it to a homemade frame.

When I started creating Christmas-y stuff for my shop, I tweaked them a bit.

I’ve removed the adults… who needs them anyway?! And I can personalize to fit your kids or grandkids, large families or small! Get “Our Little Cookies” or “Our Grand-Cookies” in my shop!

They are on sale with the rest of my Christmas in July items for one more week. These will make great gifts themselves or be great for tying to the top of the package like I did.

Christmas Wall Art – Mistletoe Let’s Stay Home

Romantic Christmas Wall Art - Mistletoe Let's Stay Home Sign | mamasbrush

Do you decorate your master bedroom for Christmas? I’ll be honest… I don’t. At least not yet.

(Warning: Tangent ahead. If you don’t want the story, scroll down for the details on the Mistletoe print!)

For the past 8 years we’ve been sleeping in our beautiful wood 4 post bed in one of the smaller children’s rooms while the real master bedroom awaits renovation. It’s no one’s fault. When we moved into this room 8 years ago, it was because the “good” bed had been moved in there after our 5th was born and Husband’s parents came to visit. The bed had been waiting in a storage unit. After they left, we were like, “ummm… yeah!”

Later that year, we demolished the floor in the master (it was bad!) and removed the closets and bathroom to prepare it for renovation. After the floor was replaced, the kids slept in there on mattresses for a while, so we could work on the room they were sharing. Then it acted as storage for a time. The next winter, Husband was trugging his large construction equipment out into the snow to get the kitchen project done. When the weather was really bad, he couldn’t work at all. Since that time, the large master bedroom has been our upstairs workshop! Several years ago, he got a team and surprised me by moving everything out and finishing the demo while I was away for the weekend. The plan was to finish the space next, but we ran into some problems and realized a couple other projects needed to be done before we could get to it… and those depended on still others. It goes on and on until now… we are still in a bright yellow bedroom with one wall missing and another waiting for drywall.

That said… I don’t really decorate that room… I barely spend time in it at all. But I dream of the dark grey walls our future room will have with the dark wood accents and furniture. I see the beautiful bed with it’s white comforter and picture how I will decorate it for the seasons… especially Christmas.

***Re-enter here if you skipped to the bottom!***

I love the cozy, romantic feeling I get when I see all those “let’s stay home” signs all over the internet. That was just the feeling I was going for when I came up with this design.

I love the way the mistletoe adds a bit of whimsy and a touch more of the romance I was looking for! I can see this hanging above our bed in December (once our renovation is complete) with white lights draped around the room. I smile just thinking about it.

You can find this in several sizes in my Etsy shop for 50% off through the end of July!

Grab it now to add some extra romance to your spaces this Christmas!

Family Christmas Lights Sign – Personalized

Family Christmas Lights Sign - Personalized | mamasbrush

Matthew 5:16 inspired quote: "Shining our lights together."

Christian Christmas, Jesus centered, Jesus focused, printable, digital download, custom Christmas sign, Christmas sign, Christmas wall art, Christmas mantle art

This is one of my favorite original Christmas signs. I love to doodle Christmas lights with the cute spirals on the lights. I’ve used them to make cards and labels year after year. They take a simple plain card or slip of paper and really dress them up in a festive way. I’ve used markers and watercolor to make the lights (you just have to wait until the watercolor dries if you go that route!) Anything would work really!

The phrase under family has a double meaning for me. Obviously we are loving to shine our Christmas lights at Christmas time, but it is also a reference to Matthew 5:16 in the Bible:

“In the same way, let your light shine before others,
so that they may see your good works and give glory to your
Father who is in heaven.”
Matthew 5:16

Jesus is talking here about the inner light Christians have in this world of darkness. We are to live our lives so that people can see Jesus (the true Light) in us.

I love to make Christmas cards with these lights and the words “Let your lights shine!” Hopefully they will be in my shop this fall (if I don’t get to it this month.) Let me know if those are something you would be interested in and I’ll move them up the priority list. 🙂

Anyway, I made these signs on wood a couple years ago and finally posted about it this past winter.

Christmas Decor – Mistletoe Sign

This one just makes me smile! I painted this years ago… it was one of the first paintings I was really excited about. I’ve made cards with this mistletoe on it in past years. One simply said, “tonight.” I like that one. 🙂

This past year I digitized it, making it possible to do so many more things with it… and to make it BIG! In this design, I added the words, “In this house, we do mistletoe!” I can’t wait to find a place to put it when December rolls around!

It’s 50% off right now as part of my Christmas in July sale. Print it at home or have it printed and add it to your Christmas decor this year.

Christ Centered Christmas Sign – Our Home Believes

Is July as busy for you as it is for me??? Yes? No? Well, I’m finally here to share some of my Christmas in July projects with you. Here we go!

Christmas clipart to use for your Cricut or Sihlouette cut machines. Jesus' manger with the words "our home believes".

Have you seen those adorable farmhouse Christmas signs that say “We believe” with a Santa hat? I love them. I remember seeing them for the first time, thinking they were so clever. The only problem is… we don’t. Yikes! Can you BELIEVE I just said that on the internet? You can’t take things like that back! But it’s true. When our children were born, we decided not to “do” Santa.

But, hang on… does that mean I can’t have one of those cute signs? Not quite! A few years ago, I designed a “we believe” kind of sign with a manger instead. Because in this world where so many people don’t believe that the One True God stepped down from heaven to walk on earth and take the penalty for our sins, our home DOES believe! We do believe that the story of Jesus being born in a stable and laid in a manger is a true story, and we love to celebrate it!

2021 Christmas Market Display | mamasbrush #woodbookstacks #Christmasdecor #winterdecor #craftfairdisplay #craftfair #woodbeadgarland #signs

I created it as a cut file for vinyl. Here you can see it applied to canvas on our family Christmas market table this past November. I used scrapbook paper for the brown and yellow, then applied the black outlines and words in vinyl over top. It was a little tricky to do for me (a beginner in all this Cricut layering stuff), but totally do-able!

As I added it to my shop this month (for our Christmas in July sale! — Shameless plug!), I’ve included the layered PNG cut files for applying it as you see here, a simple single layer file, and a printable file if you’d rather just frame it! All files are on a transparent background for you to use in whatever crafting project you’d like! Grab it up this month for just $.99 and use it to make gifts ahead of the rush or create your own Christmas cards with the clipart!

Christmas in July

Of all the seasons and themes I get excited about, Christmas is one of the top. I love to illustrate and paint Christmas-y things. It’s true. Those of you who have been around a while (or, yikes, dug in to some of the archives!) know that there is a lot of Christmas on this site.

Christmas in July Sale from mamasbrush Christmas cut files, Christmas crafts, Christmas signs, Christmas decor, old red truck, Christmas tree lot

Now, fast forward to March of this year when I finally decided to open an Etsy shop. My first concern was that I had no idea what to make… Christmas was really far away! I summoned all my creative juices and prayed a lot and I did come up with some things to list that make me smile. I hope they make you smile too, at least to see them pass through your feed.

While I’ve been creating all that non-Christmas stuff, I’ve been holding a hope in the back of my mind… Christmas in July! Could I continue filling my shops with products and artwork while still preparing some Christmas for July?

I’ll have to admit it was hard. I had bigger plans than a large family and garden would allow, but I have managed to get a few things listed to kick off Christmas in July. I’ll be adding more throughout the month as I have time and I’ll be highlighting each item here beginning next week.

Don’t want to wait??? Visit my shops now to see what’s there!

The big announcement??? SALE, SALE, SALE!

Both shops are running a 50% off Christmas listings during the month of July! This is my biggest sale yet and is probably the steepest discount I’ll offer on Christmas this year! Don’t miss it!

This project has been a long time coming, and a lot of original artwork was created to make these extra special! I’ve been working on them for several months and I’m super excited to have them done and ready for your farm or homestead needs!

Each page has chicken themed artwork that matches the season. You may recognize the chickens from a fabric design I shared lately (available for sale here.) The chickens from that fabric were originally from these egg counting sheets.

You can keep track of how many eggs you collect each day, any expenses from the month and your gross and net sales (if you sell your eggs.) There is also a section for writing any notes about your chickens or things you need to do or buy.

Christmas Lights Family Sign

Okay, this might be my last look back at Christmas. I decided to include it so that anyone who wants to use the idea for next year can get a head start. 🙂 I’m always planning to start early for Christmas… I just never get to it. 🙂

I’ve been making these cute Christmas lights since 2016, when I first started illustrating and painting. Each year they change a little bit as my style is further developed or they are applied to new things. It started with these cute cards…

They are simple and colorful on tags and simple cards.

Last year I made these…

Christmas Lights Family Sign | mamasbrush #woodsign # christmaslights #family #shiningourlights #christianfamilysign
Again, look for the Christmas lights.

I was so excited about them. And they didn’t sell at all.

That’s okay… it happens sometimes. We’ve been doing this long enough to know that just because something doesn’t sell well one year, doesn’t mean that they won’t another year.

This year we sold one of the three I made. Okay… progress.

A few weeks later I started thinking how I’ll change them next year. Customize them with family names.

Then I got a text.

A friend from church wanted to know if I had any of these left. It was 4 days before Christmas. I got the text while my husband and I were walking the aisles in the first of 4 stores we had planned that night. In other words, while I was able to send her some pics and quote some prices, I wouldn’t be home for a while.

Then the “big ask”, as she called it. She wondered if it could be customized… in time for Christmas.

Unnecessarily long story shorter, this is what I came up with…

I was happy. She was happy. And Christmas was saved! 🙂

Until Next time,
Babychaser

New Love Snowman Ornament

Confession: I haven’t been painting much since I stopped posting in early 2020. I have, however, been working digitally more and more. (Honestly, it’s just less set up, less time, and less energy to do during this super busy season of life.) And this is what led to my new drawing tablet for my birthday this last year. LOVE!

That’s just the tool I used to create this super cool couple (see what I did there?) I’ve had the pleasure of discipling a young lady in our church during the last year and I wanted to do something special for her Christmas gift. She wasn’t quite engaged, but she is now. I didn’t want to use something so cuddly as my Let’s get cozy snowcouple, so I settled with a “new love” ornament. I stayed with my personal snowman style and I’m really happy with how it turned out.

In staying with my recent trend, I forgot to take any pictures of the finished product. (Eyeroll) Thankfully, she took a picture of it and graciously shared it with me. 🙂

Framed Snowman Ornament for New Love | mamasbrush #ornament #newlove #dating #firstchristmastogether #snowman #snow #love

I printed it on card stock, sprayed it with a clear sealer for waterproofing and brushed it with a sparkle glaze. Then I put it in a simple frame that I painted a light green and again with the same sparkle glaze. (She loves glitter!) It was so cute! She said that next year this will be the first ornament she hangs. 🙂

Did you make any Christmas gifts this year? What was your favorite?

Blessings,
Babychaser
